![]() My husband asked for little time to slowly transition her to move to a different place. I have to emphasize, JUST MY HUSBAND! He told him that she has ASD and should not be left alone. They were not blocking or in danger zone, but one of your staff wants my husband off that area. My child was playing in a particular corner of Elmo san slides with my husband. My child has ASD & one of her behaviors is she likes to play in certain area & will stay in there for quite some time. I’m sad because she loves waterparks and SSP rides and slides are perfect for her. We had an awful experience last April 2022 that made us decide not to buy season pass 2023 with SSP anymore. Maybe the selling point of this park is the water park, but for the off season crowd, they really need to step up the character experience for their guests. But again, you’re now looking at $200 for 5-6 carnival rides and a single character interaction. Cookies and Milk with Cookie Monster is more reasonably priced at $15/guest, and I did see Cookie visiting each guest’s table. The one we spotted did have Elmo, which was a little heartbreaking when my toddler saw his favorite character but didn’t understand why he couldn’t say hi. ![]() $70 for lunch for six and a character interaction at a private cabana. They did offer opportunities to meet the characters in a small group - for an additional fee. The lack of Elmo really made the price ($30 for general parking, $70/ticket when paid at the gate), coupled with the drive from central San Diego, really iffy. ![]() Sesame Place should take a page from Disney’s book and ensure Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby are always milling around. It was very disappointing, particularly when compared to Disney, where there is ALWAYS an opportunity to meet Mickey. Elmo is arguably the biggest star of Sesame Street, yet no opportunity to meet him. Really? No Elmo for the majority of the day? It was SUCH a disappointment. I asked a staff member and was directed to the app, which revealed the sole Elmo meet and greet all day had been at 10 am, exactly when the park opened. ![]() The only other meet & greet our entire visit (we were there from 10:30 to 1:30) was Tango. When we arrived, we saw the Big Bird meet & greet. They weren’t scary, and they were also reasonably short (which would be great for a child who did get scared and wanted off ASAP). The toddler LOVED the carousel and Elmo’s rockets. The lines were short for the rides, which were all toddler-friendly except for Abby’s swings (those classic fair swings). It was warm but not warm enough for water activities. We arrived during the off season, when the park is only open on weekends and the water rides were closed, which we didn’t mind. It would have blown his mind, and I wanted that for him. We were visiting San Diego with my Elmo-obsessed almost-two year old. The good: Not crowded, toddler-friendly rides ![]()
